About The Position

This is a contract position for an Interventional Radiology Neuro Rad Tech in Rochester, NY. The role involves performing diagnostic-quality radiographic imaging, preparing patients for examinations, assisting radiologists during interventional procedures, and operating X-ray, CR, and DR systems. The position requires administering oral contrast, monitoring equipment, using HIS, RIS, and PACS, maintaining patient confidentiality, and providing care to patients of all age groups. Effective communication with physicians, staff, patients, and hospital personnel is essential. The schedule is 4x10-hour shifts, Days, with call responsibilities 1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends per month. Weekend/Holiday and Callback duties are as required by the unit.

Requirements

Active New York Radiologic Technologist license
BLS – American Heart Association only
Minimum 2 years of experience
Neurosurgery/Neuroscience experience required

Nice To Haves

Interventional Radiology experience preferred
Candidates from other radiology modalities may be considered; the unit typically provides up to 6 months of Neuro IR training

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic-quality radiographic imaging using appropriate exposure factors and positioning.
Prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.
Assist radiologists during interventional procedures.
Operate X-ray, CR, and DR systems.
Administer oral contrast as required.
Monitor and report equipment malfunctions.
Use HIS, RIS, and PACS for documentation and information management.
Maintain patient confidentiality and medication security.
Provide care to patients across all age groups.
Participate in performance improvement activities.
Maintain effective communication with physicians, staff, patients, and hospital personnel.
