About The Position

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a full-time Interventional Radiologist to join a dynamic group of 41 academic Radiologists providing general and subspecialty diagnostic and interventional radiological services to the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) and the University of British Columbia (UBC) Hospital. The clinical work involves full participation in a large dynamic interventional radiology service with a broad spectrum of procedures including all visceral, central and peripheral arterial and venous interventions as well as gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, hepatobiliary and genitourinary interventions. The service is also based on a strong clinical foundation with the successful applicant expected to fully participate in patient consultation and pre and post procedure management in an IR clinic environment in collaboration with a robust supportive allied health care team. The position also involves performing pain management and spinal injection procedures with experience in complex musculoskeletal interventions being highly desirable. The successful applicant will enjoy a stimulating practice that includes vascular CT, MR, and US imaging in the setting of quaternary care and Level 1 Trauma Centre.

Requirements

  • MD degree (or equivalent)
  • Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology (IR)
  • Eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia
  • Currently certified by, or eligible for certification by, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
  • Fellowship training and significant relevant clinical experience in interventional oncology including chemoembolization, radioembolization, visceral thermal ablation and complex biopsy
  • Fellowship training and significant relevant clinical experience in central and peripheral venous diagnostic and reconstructive procedures including thrombolysis and thrombectomy, pulmonary thrombolysis and thrombectomy, peripheral and visceral arterial intervention
  • Fellowship training and significant relevant clinical experience in TEVAR and other aortic interventions
  • Fellowship training and significant relevant clinical experience in reproductive interventions including gonadal vein embolization and Fallopian tubal canulation
  • Working and current fund of knowledge and experience in the diagnosis, workup, management and performance of all procedures related to vascular anomalies
  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) - Full
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory
