About The Position

Ringing Rocks Elementary School is currently seeking a part-time Intervention Tutor. This role involves working cooperatively with school staff to develop and implement research-based reading intervention lessons and activities, assessing student progress, and providing differentiated instruction. The tutor will integrate technology, maintain a plan book, and evaluate student progress for reporting to parents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code)
  • Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code)
  • FBI Criminal History Record
  • Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994
  • Must have current Act 34, 151 & 114 Clearances

Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with the principal, subject supervisors and other staff members to develop and implement research-based reading intervention lessons and activities.
  • Periodically assess students’ progress in research based intervention programs.
  • Provide meaningful, appropriate learning experiences for assigned groups of children including differentiated instruction to meet individual needs of children.
  • Maintain a plan book as directed by the principal have daily plans readily available for the use of a substitute in the event of absence.
  • Appropriately, integrate technology into the teaching-learning process.
  • Periodically evaluate children’s progress within intervention programs as a basis for planning and reporting to parents.
  • Complete and record students’ progress on appropriate records or documents.
