About The Position

Kid's Thrive Dayton is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and student-focused Intervention Specialist to join our team on a full-time day shift. This position is ideal for an education or behavioral health professional who is passionate about helping children overcome challenges, build confidence, and reach their full potential. The Intervention Specialist will provide individualized support based on each child's academic, behavioral, developmental, social, and emotional needs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with families, educators, therapists, clinicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to create a consistent and supportive environment for every child.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Health, or a related field preferred.
  • Appropriate state certification or licensure, when required.
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents preferred.
  • Experience supporting children with developmental, behavioral, emotional, or learning needs is a plus.
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs), behavioral support plans, or structured intervention programs preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish positive and trusting relationships with children and families.
  • Patience, empathy, flexibility, and a commitment to individualized support.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and positive environment for children.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs), behavioral support plans, or structured intervention programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized academic, behavioral, developmental, and educational interventions.
  • Assess student strengths, needs, progress, and areas requiring additional support.
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention strategies and measurable goals.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support as appropriate.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on observed outcomes and documented data.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, clinicians, caregivers, and other professionals to coordinate services.
  • Support students with developing academic, social, emotional, communication, and behavioral skills.
  • Use positive reinforcement and evidence-based strategies to encourage participation and progress.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of interventions, observations, goals, and student progress.
  • Communicate professionally and consistently with families regarding progress and ongoing needs.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, individualized planning, and care coordination.
  • Promote a safe, structured, respectful, and inclusive environment.
  • Follow facility policies, confidentiality requirements, safety procedures, and applicable professional standards.
  • Advocate for students and ensure their individual needs are recognized and addressed.
