About The Position

St. Matthew School is seeking an Intervention Specialist for the 2026/2027 school year. This role is responsible for assisting students in mastering curriculum skills and information while fostering their growth in faith and responsibility. The position requires adherence to the eight standards of professional competency for teachers in the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Columbus, which include integrating Catholic teachings, understanding student diversity, knowing subject content, using varied assessments, planning and delivering effective instruction, creating Christ-centered learning environments, collaborating with stakeholders, and pursuing professional and spiritual growth.

Requirements

  • Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach.
  • Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks.
  • Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Appropriate state certification/license as required by the grade levels and subjects taught.
  • Religious Education certification as required by the diocese.

  • Collaborate and communicate with students, parents, other educators, administrators, and the faith community.
  • Assume responsibility for professional academic/spiritual growth, performance, and involvement.
