About The Position

Under the supervision of the Principal and/or Assistant Principal, this role involves teaching and instructing students in academic subjects, social skills, behavioral skills, and other educational or related skill areas. The Intervention Specialist will plan, develop, organize, implement, and assess a comprehensive educational program for students, assist in other school programs as assigned, and create a supportive and flexible program and environment conducive to learning and personal growth according to each student’s ability and interests. The goal is to encourage students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Colorado READ Act designation
  • Colorado Department of Education, Teaching License

Responsibilities

  • Managing student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Maintaining discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school, and applying appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary.
  • Utilizing technology and integrating its use to provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Instructing and monitoring students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Observing, evaluating, encouraging, and providing feedback on student's performance and development.
  • Planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
  • Performing duties including but not limited to student support, counseling students with academic problems, and supporting certain extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations.
  • Participating in department and school meetings, and parent meetings.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
  • Preparing required reports on students and activities.
  • Engaging with new teaching methods and educational tools in an ever-changing and strategic environment.
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Establishing and communicating clear objectives for all learning activities.
