About The Position
Provide interpretation services for students and families, for school meetings. This role requires strong real-time interpreting skills, collaboration with teachers, staff, and related service providers to support student/family during meetings and conferences.
Requirements
- Professional fluency in English and at least one of the following languages: Vietnamese, Mandarin (simplified or traditional),Farsi, Arabic, Tagalog, Korean, Cantonese, Dari, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Turkish, German and Russian
- Experience providing interpretation in professional, educational, healthcare, or community settings
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interpret accurately in real time
- Department of Justice/FBI Background Check (or equivalent state or national fingerprint clearance)
Nice To Haves
- National interpreter certification or completion of a recognized interpreter training program
- Experience working in school-based or educational settings
- Familiarity with IEP environments and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, organization, and adaptability
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teachers, SPED staff, and related service providers to support student success and IEP goals
- Support communication during meetings, assessments, and other school activities as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of interpreting
