Interpreter (WEO)
About The Position
Gundersen is seeking motivated and flexible candidates with a strong customer service background, superior telephone and critical thinking skills who are energized by working in a fast-paced environment as a Spanish speaking interpreter. This is a fulltime (WEO/Weekend Employment Option) position working Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only. Required to complete three, 12 hour shifts every week from Friday - Sunday equaling 36 hours every week. Shift hours - 8:00AM to 8:00PM - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This is a contracted position and would be required to agree to a 3 or 6 month contract with the department. The candidate selected for this position would get 1 weekend off over a 6 month contract. Locations include La Crosse and Onalaska.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- A passing score on oral proficiency test through language testing agency in target language which evaluates knowledge of medical terminology (This is something Gundersen will provide to you if you are selected)
- Spanish speaking

Responsibilities
- Relay medical information between speakers of two different languages
- Ensure that information communicated by providers and staff is understood by the patient and family
