About The Position
OHLA USA, a global infrastructure leader, is offering Summer Internships in Engineering & Estimating in Florida. This program provides hands-on experience in civil, building, and estimating roles, contributing to real projects across Miami, West Palm Beach, Vero Beach, and Fort Myers. The internships are designed as a pathway to full-time Field Engineer roles for top-performing interns upon graduation. Interns will gain experience from day one on active projects and support the estimating team on bids. The program offers competitive pay, mentorship from experienced professionals, and a focus on safety and standards.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Eager, proactive, driven—a self-starter ready to dive in
- Organized and communicative, with strong time-management skills
- Interested in a long-term career in estimating, heavy civil or building construction
- Eligibility: incoming juniors, seniors and spring graduates
- Top-performing interns will be considered for Field Engineer roles upon completion of their internship, starting after graduation.

Responsibilities
- Support daily site operations alongside Project Managers, Supers, and Engineers (Civil Intern)
- Inspect materials, manage deliveries, and ensure quality/compliance (Civil Intern)
- Update schedules, RFIs, cost tracking, and documentation (Civil Intern)
- Participate in safety walk-throughs and uphold OHLA protocols (Civil Intern)
- Gain exposure to roadway design, traffic control, and paving (Civil Intern)
- Support daily field operations on vertical building projects (e.g., healthcare, education, residential facilities) (Building Intern)
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, manage deliveries, and oversee quality/compliance (Building Intern)
- Assist with schedule updates, submittments, RFIs, and documentation (Building Intern)
- Participate in safety protocols relevant to building construction environments (Building Intern)
- Gain exposure to general contracting and design-build processes (Building Intern)
- Assist with bid prep, take-offs, and cost analysis across civil and building scopes (Estimating Intern)
- Review drawings/specifications and organize vendor quotes (Estimating Intern)
- Support historical cost tracking, bid summaries, and DOT/platform submissions (Estimating Intern)
- Gain exposure to estimating software and industry standards (Estimating Intern)
