About The Position

Greater St. Louis Area Scouting is offering a dynamic internship program designed to immerse students in the heart of their operations, providing hands-on experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals. This paid, part-time program is ideal for students seeking to explore the non-profit sector and make a lasting impact. The program term is Spring 2026 and requires approximately 20 hours per week for 12-16 weeks. Interns will gain firsthand knowledge of the non-profit sector, hone communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, and assist with program development, fundraising, and marketing campaigns.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, or currently enrolled high school junior or senior.
  • A genuine interest in the non-profit sector and/or Scouting America.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, self-motivation, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A commitment to the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior non-profit experience or coursework in fundraising, management, or marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a professional Scouter for approximately 20 hours per week.
  • Document learning journey through weekly activity logs.
  • Participate in mid-term and final evaluations with mentor.
  • Attend meetings, training, and activities to explore diverse career paths within Scouting.
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks.
  • Become a member of Scouting America and uphold the Scout Oath and Law.
