About The Position

This internship offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in procurement within the hydropower industry. Interns will participate in various stages of the procurement cycle, including requests for quotation, bid analysis, purchase order follow-up, and supplier communication. The role involves working with experienced professionals on real hydropower projects, developing skills in commercial analysis, supplier management, and internal tools like SAP and LMS. The goal is to build confidence, independence, and professional judgment while contributing to the company's success.

Requirements

  • Studying engineering, operations management, supply chain, or business administration.
  • Enjoy researching, understanding, and turning information into action.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with changing priorities.
  • Bring initiative, curiosity, and a team mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English and French.
  • Legal status to work in Canada is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read shop or mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of or interest in negotiation and commercial analysis.
  • Familiarity with SAP or another enterprise resource planning system.
  • Interest in energy, manufacturing, or supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Explore project needs and gather information with engineering and project teams.
  • Identify suppliers and help prepare requests for quotation.
  • Compare bids and highlight key differences to support decisions.
  • Prepare and update purchase orders under supervision.
  • Track purchase order progress, required documents, and delivery dates with suppliers.
  • Help information move smoothly and contribute to resolving routine supplier questions.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to understand invoice processing and reconciliation.
  • Support follow-ups, changes, and urgent purchases using SAP, LMS, and other internal tools.
  • Prepare updates and collaborate across teams to keep projects moving.
