About The Position

This summer internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the executive level of a leading nonprofit organization during a pivotal moment of organizational growth and leadership transition. Reporting to the Executive & Strategic Projects Manager in the President’s Office, the intern will provide administrative and analytical support on high-priority strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for a student interested in nonprofit leadership, organizational strategy, and executive-level operations. Given the current transition in leadership and the fluid nature of strategic priorities, adaptability and a proactive mindset are essential. The intern will have the opportunity to gain exposure to how executive offices operate in complex, mission-driven organizations and to contribute meaningfully to projects with real organizational impact. This position has been offered in prior cycles and continues to be a high-value experience for students pursuing careers in nonprofit management, public administration, or business strategy.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate educational program, ideally in nonprofit management, business administration, public policy, public administration, or a related field
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Comfortable working primarily in person with flexibility for some virtual work as agreed upon with supervisor

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with research, data organization, or strategic communications
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in another language (ideally Spanish or Haitian Creole)

Responsibilities

  • Research & Reporting: Conduct research on topics relevant to FamilyAid’s strategic priorities and prepare written summaries, briefs, and reports for leadership
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Assist with data collection and simple data analyses using Excel to support decision-making and reporting needs
  • Stakeholder Profiles & Briefings: Create and maintain stakeholder profiles and briefing materials, particularly in support of leadership transitions and key external relationships
  • Information & Materials Management: Organize and manage documents, files, and information related to leadership activities, strategic projects, and organizational change
  • Internship Program Support: Assist with supporting FamilyAid’s internship program operations and growth initiatives
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Executive & Strategic Projects Manager, including scheduling, communications preparation, and project tracking
  • Special Projects: Contribute to additional projects as needs and priorities evolve during the internship period
  • Meetings: Attend key internal meetings as needed; occasional in-person presence preferred for priority meetings, with flexibility on scheduling
