About The Position

Hunkemöller is offering a five-month HR Compensation & Benefits internship starting in September 2026 as part of its Best Internship in Retail (BIIR) program. The intern will support compensation and benefits analysis, reporting, process mapping, policy and process improvements, and projects involving the annual performance review cycle, company bonus, and EU Pay Transparency. The role also includes day-to-day support, project coordination, and ad-hoc problem solving in a fast-paced, international environment.

The intern will work with HR analytics and employee data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, connecting data insights to business needs and outcomes. They will collaborate with Legal, Finance, Store Operations, and Regional HR teams, and prepare clear, professional presentations and materials for internal stakeholders. The internship includes access to the BIIR learning program, an assigned buddy, and a hybrid work-from-home arrangement subject to role needs and onboarding.

Applicants must remain enrolled at a school or university throughout the internship and meet one of the listed Dutch internship eligibility conditions. After application review, candidates will be asked to complete a gamified personality assessment.

Requirements

• Be a third- or fourth-year student in an HBO/WO program in HR, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Be available at least four days per week; completing a thesis during the internship is possible.
• Have strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and enjoy using data to turn insights into action.
• Be proactive, curious, and creative, able to connect ideas and challenge the status quo.
• Be comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Have strong verbal and written English communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
• Be able to work independently and collaborate in cross-functional, international teams.
• Have advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Be available for five months starting in September 2026 and enrolled at a school or university for the full internship duration.
• Meet one of the stated eligibility conditions: be an EU citizen; hold a Family/Partner visa; or be a non-EU student studying in the Netherlands whose internship is mandatory in their curriculum or whose university is willing to sign a third-party (Nuffic) agreement.

Responsibilities

• Support compensation and benefits analyses, reporting, and process mapping.
• Work with HR analytics and people data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities and connect findings to business needs and outcomes.
• Contribute to developing and improving Compensation and Benefits policies, guidelines, and processes.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Store Operations, and Regional HR teams to support alignment and compliance.
• Prepare clear, professional, on-brand presentations and materials for internal stakeholders.
• Support the Compensation and Benefits Manager on the annual performance review cycle, company bonus, EU Pay Transparency, day-to-day activities, project coordination, and ad-hoc problem solving.
