About The Position

As an intern with Textron, you’ll gain hands-on experience while exploring your interests and building new skills. You’ll be supported and challenged to contribute in meaningful ways – working on real projects alongside experienced professionals to prepare for future success. JOB SUMMARY: Develop Electronic Modules utilized in the control and monitoring of various systems on-board the aircraft. Tasks include circuit design, PC board layout, software design, verification and integration on Textron Aviation products.

  • Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
  • Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development, design, testing and certification documentation for new or modified printed circuit board modules for aircraft
  • Apply electrical engineering theory and the operation of electronic test equipment to functionally test and troubleshoot avionics/electrical modules or systems
  • Assist with validation of electronic circuit design concepts using SPICE software
  • Design printed circuit board layouts using Altium design software
  • Utilize VHDL to modify and maintain Programmable Logic Devices
  • Assist with preparation of engineering certification reports to document system designs that meet the requirements of certification authorities
  • Assist with preparation of functional test documents to verify proper operation of electronic assemblies
