Internship – Culinary, Food & Beverage (Spring 2027)
About The Position
The Universal Destinations & Experiences Internship Program offers students the opportunity to work alongside seasoned culinarians for a comprehensive understanding of the hospitality industry, with a specific focus on the Universal Culinary program. Interns will gain exposure to a variety of restaurants, service styles (from signature dining to fast-casual), special events, and our state-of-the-art production kitchen and bakery. This role provides a unique chance to present a dish, centered around a marquee event or specialty themed location, to the Universal Orlando Executive Culinary Team. The position is fast-paced and designed for those seeking to understand the full scope of a theme park culinary operation.
Requirements
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Senior or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License is required.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2027.
Nice To Haves
- Preferred majors include: Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or similar.
- Basic knife skills preferred.
- Preferred previous experience in a full-service restaurant.
Responsibilities
- Completes hands-on training within Food & Beverage to gain a holistic view of large-scale theme park operations.
- Assists the Culinary and Bakery & Pastry Team Members getting exposure to multiple operations and styles throughout the resort.
- Performs duties within different venues as assigned.
- Presents a dish to the Universal Orlando Executive Culinary Team as a part of a final internship presentation.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
