About The Position

This is a 24/7 emergency/specialty hospital located in beautiful Southern California. Specialty services include Internal Medicine, Emergency/Critical Care, Surgery, Cardiology and experienced ER Associates. The hospital features two lobbies, 9 exam rooms, 2 treatment rooms, 2 surgical suites, 2 isolation areas for UR and GI cases, and individual procedure rooms dedicated to ultrasound, echos and scoping procedures. Advanced equipment includes Aquilion Helical 64 slice CT, 2 radiograph rooms, IM Ultrasound, 2 POC Ultrasounds, C-Arm/Fluoroscopy, Ligasure, Stores Tower, and Laparoscope. Supportive care capabilities include mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy (10 Snyder cages and nasal oxygen), transfusion therapy, and advanced fluid support/fluid therapy. Intensive care monitoring capabilities include continuous telemetry, pulse oximetry, capnography, CVP monitoring, and direct and indirect blood pressure monitoring. In-house laboratory capabilities include co-oximetry, TEG, blood gas and electrolytes (Nova and i-STAT), CBC, coagulation profiles and chemistry profiles. The hospital is situated between Los Angeles and San Diego, offering access to amazing beaches, mountains, skiing, desert, and endless outdoor activities with perfect weather. It is one of the most desirable places to live in California, with access to a network of specialists within VCA.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, from an accredited university or equivalent
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in (state), or the ability to obtain
  • Residency Trained or Diplomate Board Certification
