Requirements

  • 4+ years of core international trade compliance experience working for an importer or customs broker
  • Experience with business analytics tools. Ability to use data and metrics to help make and support decisions
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Customs procedures & trade practices & ability to interpret regulations
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Expertise in HTS & ECCN classification, with strong knowledge in Import & Export regulations, Free trade agreements (FTAs), Country of origin (COO), Incoterms and Commercial invoice requirements
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Highly organized
  • Good judgement to know when to escalate

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science preferred, e.g., International Business, Logistics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, Library Sciences. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • Licensed Customs Broker preferred.
  • The Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) credential is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support the strategic development and execution of a standardized post-entry review program and post-shipment review program for Novolex entities in coordination with the Sr. ITC Manager.
  • Maintain ITC recordkeeping activities in coordination with the Sr. ITC Manager and ITC Associate.
  • Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of standard operating procedures and work instructions to support functional areas of responsibility as needed.
  • Serve as a point of contact (POC) for the ITC Restricted Party Screening (RPS) activities.
  • Provide critical support for the defense of CBP and DOC audits including data collection and analysis.
  • Work with customs brokers to resolve issues with import transactions detected during the standardized post-entry reviews.
  • Proactively escalate service, process, data, and other concerns to Sr. ITC Manager. Assists in identifying and implementing solutions.
  • Ensure all assigned compliance-related problems and issues are addressed timely and correctly.
  • Provide key support (e.g., data analysis) to the ITC department with monitoring/post- entry projects assigned to help ensure the success of implementation and/or completion of the project.
