About The Position

Syniverse is the world’s most connected company. The International Tax Manager plays a critical role in executing Syniverse’s global tax strategy through hands-on preparation, review, and operational delivery. This position is responsible for ensuring technical compliance, managing key international tax projects, and supporting US reporting of non-US operations, including related calculations within the US federal return. The Manager delivers high-quality, timely tax outcomes across the global portfolio, under the guidance and direction of senior tax leadership, by working hand in hand with external advisors and in collaboration with colleagues throughout the organization including Finance, Legal, Human Resources, and other business units.

Requirements

  • Approximately 5–8 years of US international tax experience in a multinational corporate or /and Big Four.
  • Deep technical proficiency in US international tax — Subpart F, GILTI, BEAT, FDII, FTC, Section 163(j), Section 987 — and US international forms (5471, 8858, 8865 series).
  • Working knowledge of OECD guidelines, BEPS, Pillar 2 (GloBE / QDMTT / IIR), and transfer pricing principles sufficient to own global GloBE data compilation.
  • Experience with ASC 740, UTPs, valuation allowances, and indefinite reinvestment analyses.
  • Proven project management ability across multiple jurisdictions, time zones, and stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel, hands-on, experience with SAP, Power BI, and One Source-tax provision platform.
  • Experience with technological tools
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical positions for non-tax audiences.
  • CPA, JD, MST, or LL.M (Tax) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end preparation and review of US international tax calculations globally: Subpart F, GILTI, BEAT, FDII, FTC, Section 163(j), and Section 987.
  • Own preparation and review of US international forms across the global footprint: Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, and related disclosures (8990, 8991, 8992, 8993).
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation of E&P pools, tax pools, PTEP layers, US tax basis, and required elections for all foreign subsidiaries (EMEA/APAC and CALA).
  • Aggregate CFC-level inputs from the Senior Tax Manager (EMEA/APAC CFCs) and the Reporting, Accounting & Tax Manager (CALA CFCs); consolidate into US federal return positions.
  • Own GloBE data compilation and Country-by-Country Report globally.
  • Coordinate jurisdictional GloBE inputs from the Senior Tax Manager (EMEA/APAC), Reporting Manager (CALA), and TP Assistant Manager (TP-related).
  • Translate GloBE data into US-side QDMTT / IIR / UTPR modeling and ASC 740 tax provision impact.
  • Monitor Pillar 2 legislative implementation across jurisdictions; recommend documentation and process updates.
  • Monitor US tax law changes and international tax developments, flag emerging risks to the Director, International Tax.
  • Prepare technical research and memos on tax law changes.
  • Maintain documentation for uncertain tax positions (FIN 48 / ASC 740-10).
  • Provide US-impact item review to the Transfer Pricing Assistant Manager's global Master File, Local Files, and CbCR.
  • Support all tax planning initiatives primarily for the CALA region in alignment with global tax strategy.
  • M&A tax due diligence and restructuring workstreams; partner with the TP Assistant Manager on post-deal intercompany realignment.
  • Oversight repatriation planning and coordination, partnering with Treasury and the Reporting, Accounting & Tax Manager on execution primarily for CALA jurisdictions.
  • Primary contact for tax audits and controversy; support on execution to build defense files and coordinate with external advisors.
  • Drive automation of US international tax compliance and consolidation processes using Excel, SAP, Power BI, and OneSource Tax Provision.
  • Build dashboards to monitor CFC-level compliance and global Pillar 2 metrics in near real-time.
  • Coordinate external advisors for US international tax and BEPS Pillar 2 workstreams for technical accuracy and consistency with company positions.
  • Support quarterly and year-end income tax accounting for non-US operations in alignment with IFRS, US GAAP (ASC 740 / ASC 450), and local standards.
  • Maintain internal control compliance for all US international tax and Pillar 2 processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and review to junior staff, no formal direct reports at hire.
