About The Position

As an International Tax Advisory Manager within Caterpillar's Global Tax - International Tax Team, you will serve as a trusted business partner supporting Caterpillar's global operations by helping identify and navigate international tax considerations associated with business activities around the world. In this role, you will collaborate with partners across Tax, Finance, Legal, Commercial, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations to evaluate business initiatives, assess potential international tax impacts, and provide practical recommendations that support business objectives while appropriately managing risk. You will join a highly collaborative global team supporting operations across Canada, Latin America, EAME, and Asia. This role is ideal for a tax professional who has been exposed to non-U.S. tax matters and is looking to further develop their international tax expertise while growing within a global organization. Success in this role requires strong communication, relationship-building, project management, and problem-solving skills. While an understanding of international tax concepts is important, the ability to partner with stakeholders, learn quickly, and translate complex topics into practical business guidance is equally critical.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Business, Economics, or a related field.
Experience supporting international or non-U.S. tax matters within a multinational corporation, public accounting firm, or similar environment.
Exposure to international tax concepts, including: Corporate Income Tax, International Tax, Transfer Pricing, Indirect Tax, Cross-border business transactions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively across functions and geographies.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accountability.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Fluent verbal and written English communication skills.
Working knowledge of ERP systems and end-to-end business processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
Experience with SharePoint and collaboration platforms.

Experience supporting non-U.S. tax matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Exposure to international tax advisory, compliance, transfer pricing, or indirect tax matters.

Responsibilities

Support the analysis of international business activities, supply chain initiatives, and commercial transactions to identify tax considerations and opportunities.
Partner with Finance, Legal, Commercial, Operations, and Tax teams to provide practical and business-focused recommendations.
Evaluate cross-border transactions, contracting structures, operating models, and commercial arrangements.
Assist in supporting tax-efficient business decisions while appropriately managing risk.
Build strong working relationships with business partners across multiple functions and geographic regions.
Collaborate with finance and operational teams to understand evolving business activities and identify potential tax implications.
Communicate international tax concepts in a clear and practical manner to non-tax stakeholders.
Contribute to cross-functional discussions and projects affecting global operations.
Support oversight of non-U.S. tax compliance activities.
Assist with international income tax filings, transfer pricing documentation, and related compliance requirements.
Support responses to tax authority inquiries and audit activities in various jurisdictions.
Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate compliance.
Participate in cross-functional and cross-border initiatives, including supply chain transformations and organizational changes.
Coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders and regions.
Manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and accountability.
Help educate business partners on tax-related considerations impacting global operations.
