About The Position

The University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) is seeking an International Student Recruitment Officer to join the Office of the Registrar. This office is responsible for student recruitment and admissions, providing services to current students, course scheduling, and data analysis. The International Student Recruitment Officer will contribute to UTSC's international recruitment strategy through outreach, relationship-building, and data-informed planning. This role is ideal for a proactive and analytical recruitment professional who is comfortable engaging with prospective students and using data to inform decision-making. The position plays a key part in advancing UTSC's recruitment goals by delivering targeted outreach initiatives and analyzing data to guide strategic decision-making. By building strong relationships and collaborating across teams, the officer will enhance recruitment effectiveness, support informed planning, and contribute to a high-quality, student-centered service experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years experience in student recruitment preferably with experience recruiting in international markets.
  • Excellent public speaking to small and large audiences and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Conversant with issues related to student recruitment, academic programming and university life.
  • Proven record of tact and diplomacy.
  • Applicants are expected to show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.
  • Excellent computer skills including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Experience with client relationship management tools and databases.
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting audio visual equipment (e.g., projector, screens, microphones, laptop, etc.).
  • Possess valid G driver's license.
  • Must be able to travel within and outside of Canada, for a period of up to two weeks at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering student recruitment presentations, locally and internationally
  • Fostering positive relationships with prospective students, teachers, counsellors and parents
  • Fostering and maintaining a network of external contacts to support recruitment strategies
  • Scheduling travel plans and requesting appropriate accommodations for self or others
  • Preparing detailed analysis of risk factors to inform planning decisions for international travel
  • Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
  • Keeping well-informed on University programs, policies and procedures
