About The Position

The International Recruitment Officer is accountable for all aspects of new student recruitment to St. Francis Xavier University from their respective markets abroad, from lead identification to registration. This role is also responsible for managing relationships, such as Guidance Counsellors, Agents, and Trade Commissioners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and in-person.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to develop and execute a schedule.
  • Must have confidence and desire to share the StFX story
  • Require a strong ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Required to work within a budget and accurately track and submit expenses.
  • Must possess superior judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Must be skilled in the design and delivery of presentations, workshops, and information sessions.
  • Must be comfortable working in a digital space across a variety of platforms and channels, including social media, Microsoft Office, Banner, Salesforce, etc.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and passport.

Responsibilities

  • International Recruitment, which includes but is not limited to providing support to prospective International students, creating opportunities for lead generation, following up with leads to facilitate application and ultimately registration, working directly with students abroad and other key stakeholders (Guidance Counsellors, Trade Commissioners, English Language Training Partners, Parents/Families & Agents) to support and build confidence in making the decision to choose StFX.
  • Represent StFX at recruitment events, International education fairs and high school visits both in person and virtually, within your assigned market.
  • Serve as an expert connector ensuring students, parents, guidance counsellors, agents and others are well informed on all that StFX offers as a learning community.
  • Supports the planning, execution, and evaluation of recruitment-related events for students, parents, guidance counsellors, and agents independently or as part of a consortium of institutions.
  • Assist in the delivery of campus tours for international delegations for prospective partners.
  • Work with internal stakeholders (academic departments, administrative departments) to help facilitate international student transition to StFX.
  • Leverage the CRM system to ensure continuity of the relationship beyond the incumbent’s tenure.
  • Engage actively in committee or project work at StFX or with external associations and partners.
  • Work with appropriate stakeholders to develop suitable social media marketing and traditional marketing for the assigned market.
  • Develop and edit online and traditional marketing collateral.
  • Support the evaluation and renewal of agent partner relationships.
  • Travel internationally; working evenings and weekends
