About The Position

NEON is seeking Fall 2026 International Sales & Distribution Interns for its Los Angeles office. This internship is part of NEON's Undergraduate Internship Program, offering real-world experience in film distribution, marketing, publicity, acquisitions, digital distribution, and theatrical sales. Interns will gain practical experience, receive mentorship from industry veterans, and participate in structured programming with cross-functional exposure and professional development alongside a cohort of fellow interns. The program aims to provide hands-on industry experience, behind-the-scenes insight into film distribution, professional connections, and confidence for future endeavors.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college/university.
  • Passion for independent film and a proactive, positive attitude.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Google Docs and Excel.
  • Collaborative spirit and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Cultural literacy and a curiosity to engage with marketing and distribution campaigns.
  • Quick learner with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and analytical writing abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship in sales or marketing in film is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Sales market support: track competitive projects, manage RSVP lists and link requests, generate availability listings, assist with market shipment and office set-up, and support the sales office during the American Film Market.
  • Box Office research: pull weekly box office reports for the independent international distribution landscape and evaluate individual projects.
  • Script Evaluation: read scripts and write coverage, evaluating them with international sales value in mind.
  • Marketing/Publicity: update and track international festival requests, compile international reviews and press breaks, update grids of new marketing assets, and track/review localized artwork.
  • Other research/support as needed, such as research on specific territories, films, or talent.
  • Partake in team duties including office support, film presentations, social media sweeps, festival review coverage, and special events staffing.
