About The Position

Join PwC as an International Employment Tax Manager within our national Employment Tax team, part of the fast-growing Reward & Employment practice. You’ll advise large, complex employers across public and private sectors on international employment tax risks, regulatory and legislative change, and employer compliance as they recruit and expand globally. Working in a technology-enabled environment, you’ll help deliver innovative, efficient employment tax services covering employment taxes, multi-jurisdiction withholding and social security obligations on cash, expenses, benefits and share-based remuneration, plus international employment status considerations. This role suits a technically strong manager able to apply wide-ranging international employment tax capabilities.

Requirements

  • Strong subject matter expertise in international employment taxes, advising employers on obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • CTA/ACA qualified or hold an international equivalent.
  • Experience from an in-house role, global mobility position or advisory role in the international employment taxes space.
  • Understanding of international social security and how it interacts with UK employer National Insurance obligations.
  • Employer compliance experience covering business visitors, cross-border commuters and non-resident directors.
  • Ability to advise on cross-border equity, deferred compensation and bonus sourcing for PAYE and National Insurance.
  • Understanding of how double tax treaties interact with employer withholding obligations and ability to apply that knowledge practically.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with PwC teams across the UK and multiple jurisdictions, advising clients in a wide range of sectors and countries on complex international employment tax matters.
  • Manage a varied client portfolio, providing consulting services, technical advice and analysis on employer compliance, including withholding, social security, benefits, expenses, cash and share-based remuneration.
  • Draft technically complex advice, supervise junior colleagues, support their personal and technical development, and undertake research on tax cases, legislation and HMRC consultations.
  • Track regulatory change and best practice, develop thought leadership, build internal and external networks, promote the PwC brand, identify new service opportunities and support client proposals.
