About The Position

In partnership with the Vice President & Head for International Commercial Policy & Comms, this role will set strategy for International Specialty Care and Oncology Business Units (BUs). This includes supporting the implementation of policy shaping, evidence generation, and external engagement in collaboration with the International Commercial Policy & Comms team. The role requires policy and public affairs experience, a working knowledge of key policy issues such as the role of real-world evidence, incremental innovation, pricing and reimbursement, and access topics. Established industry experience in advancing and shaping international policy priorities is essential. Prior experience engaging on policy topics specific to Specialty Care and Oncology BUs internationally is preferred. The candidate must have experience engaging and managing external stakeholders, including policymakers, trade associations, academics, think tanks, consultants, patient advocacy groups, and third parties. The role will work in close partnership with Commercial teams, leading and managing complex policy projects and cross-functional teams outside of a reporting structure. Responsibilities include presenting international policy and analytics to leadership, representing Pfizer in international external engagements, and possessing strong written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in health policy, international relations, or related field.
  • Policy and public affairs experience including working knowledge of key policy issues including role of real-world evidence and incremental innovation.
  • Experience working with Commercial teams.
  • Proven track record managing complex policy projects and with cross-functional teams outside of a reporting structure, presenting global policy and analytics to leadership, and representing Pfizer in international external engagements.
  • Proven ability to work within a matrixed environment and manage day-to-day planning and operational activities, including strong project, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities, handle multiple tasks with frequent tight deadlines, work well in team environments, and be productive when working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategy development for International Specialty Care and Oncology BUs, with responsibility for above-market, above-brand policy strategies within Specialty Care (including I&I and Rare Disease), as well as strategic initiatives within Oncology.
  • Lead implementation of policy shaping, evidence generation, and external engagement in conjunction with the International Commercial Policy & Comms VP for Specialty Care and the International Commercial Policy Oncology team.
  • Manage and shape Pfizer policy engagement with the World Skin Health Coalition and support patient councils for I&I therapeutic areas.
  • Manage and shape Rare Disease policy strategies and resource development for ATTR-CM and hemophilia.
  • Manage strategic oncology policy projects and workstreams.
  • Support development and dissemination of cross-functional clinical trial narrative with policymakers.
  • Lead coordination and execution of high-level external oncology policy events, including the UICC World Cancer Congress and ESMO PAG advocacy event (e.g., plenary speaker and briefing prep, stakeholder coordination, event development and pull through).
  • Ensure strong coordination and alignment with Global Marketing and ICO Specialty Care and Oncology business units to support Operating Plan execution, International Vision for Growth, ICO Oncology 2030 strategy, and business objectives related to policy and environment shaping ahead of key launches.
  • Align with key commercial partners to secure budget for priority 2027 activities.
  • Monitor and partner with GAV, EUGR, USPGR, and other functions to ensure alignment on policy topics related to EU Pharma legislation and EU Beating Cancer Plan.
  • Lead engagement with external stakeholders, including patient advocacy groups, cross-industry working groups, policymakers, trade associations, academics, think tanks, consultants, and third parties.
  • Manage complex policy projects and cross-functional teams outside of a reporting structure, presenting global policy and analytics to leadership.
  • Represent Pfizer in international external engagements and in key international fora.
  • Champion international Specialty Care and Oncology priorities and increase awareness and understanding of IPC priorities.
  • Manage International Specialty Care and Oncology IPC budget in coordination with the International Commercial Policy and Comms team.
  • Partner with International Specialty Care and Oncology Commercial (Global Marketing and ICO), GAV, Medical, R&D, Legal, and Compliance to champion projects, secure, and manage budgets for strategic initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot internal and external issues and recommend innovative solutions to address them, including mitigating and managing reputational risks.
  • Manage external agencies, including procurement activities, workplan development, day-to-day communication, and performance management.
  • Maintain the highest standards of compliance in all activities.
