About The Position

Plaza Infiniti in Creve Coeur is now adding an Internal Service Writer to our busy team. We are looking for an automotive-experienced individual with high attention to detail and a sense of urgency. CDK experience a plus. Summary: The Internal Service Writer manages the reconditioning and maintenance workflow for internal vehicles, such as new factory stock arrival pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and used car trade-ins. Your goal is to minimize turnaround time and control internal costs while ensuring all inventory is safe and ready for the front line.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in similar automotive role preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic car functions, characteristics, and operations
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Basic MS Office knowledge; computer software, internet proficiency, and general mathematic skills
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate coordination and efficiency between internal departments
  • Valid driver's license with 2 or fewer moving violations in the last 3 years and ALSO no major violations (DUI, careless driving, etc.) in the last 3 years

Responsibilities

  • Open, track, and close repair orders for used car reconditioning, trade-ins, and new stock arrivals
  • Assign diagnostic and mechanical work to technicians, ensuring a steady shop flow
  • Build cost estimates for parts and labor for internal approval by Used Car or Sales Managers
  • Process pre-delivery inspections and warranty claims for incoming factory inventory
  • Source and schedule third-party vendors for specialized reconditioning tasks (e.g., dent removal, upholstery, glass repair)
  • Communicate repair timelines and budget adjustments to service, sales and general management
