About The Position

The Internal Sales Associate role is designed for motivated early-career professionals eager to build a rewarding career in the investment management industry. SmartTrust® offers a dynamic environment that blends financial markets, advisor relationship management, and consultative sales within one of the nation’s leading Unit Investment Trust (UIT) sponsors. You’ll begin your journey with a comprehensive introduction to our UIT platform, product lineup, and sales process. Through collaboration with senior leadership and experienced external wholesalers, you’ll develop the knowledge, communication skills, and strategic mindset needed to succeed in advisor distribution and asset growth. Requirements

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of investment markets and product structures, including UITs, ETFs, and CEFs.
  • Analyze market trends and communicate their impact on SmartTrust® strategies and holdings.
  • Exhibit initiative, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Uphold our culture of collaboration, integrity, and excellence in every advisor interaction.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 license
  • 1–3 years of financial services or client service experience preferred
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • A team-first mindset and desire to grow within a national distribution organization

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with Financial Advisors nationwide through proactive outreach, consultation, and product education.
  • Partner with external wholesalers to drive sales and develop regional strategies.
  • Represent SmartTrust® with professionalism and expertise, becoming a trusted resource for investment insights and market updates.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to distribute sales ideas, webinars, and updated materials.
  • Manage client data and communications within a CRM platform, ensuring accurate reporting and pipeline tracking.
  • Participate in ongoing sales training, industry education, and firm development programs.
  • Lead or assist with special initiatives designed to expand distribution or improve operational efficiency.
