The Internal Retirement Plan Counselor plays a critical role in helping investors save for retirement. This position involves collaborating with peers in the field and financial advisors to identify new opportunities for American Funds, developing and executing critical territory coverage, synthesizing and presenting information, and initiating sales through personalized outbound calls to promote American Funds and proprietary recordkeeping solutions. Requirements

  • Have a bachelor’s degree
  • Be well spoken and upbeat with sales experience
  • Thrive in team settings
  • Ask great questions, bounce ideas off others and proactively share your perspective
  • Have an interest in developing an in-depth understanding of the defined contribution marketplace
  • Must hold the FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) in order to apply
  • Must hold or obtain the Series 7, and 66 (or equivalent) upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Help investors save for retirement
  • Collaborate with peers in the field and financial advisors to identify new opportunities for American Funds
  • Develop and execute critical territory coverage
  • Synthesize information and present it in a distilled manner
  • Make personalized outbound calls to initiate sales
  • Present compelling solutions to promote American Funds and our proprietary recordkeeping solutions
