About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide comprehensive compliance oversight and quality assurance support to assigned permanency programs and supporting departments. This position serves as the primary compliance partner for designated program areas and is responsible for monitoring child safety, case quality, placement documentation compliance, legal regulation compliance, and program performance indicators. The Internal Quality & Compliance Specialist conducts case reviews and safety reviews, analyzes trends and areas of risk, facilitates compliance-related activities, monitors litigation related requirements, and provides consultation and technical assistance to program staff and leadership. This positions works collaboratively with other departments to ensure the team is upholding child safety and agency policy standards. This requires an extensive knowledge of both IMPACT and CLASS systems, regulatory standards, legal mandates, and agency expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree; or equivalent relevant professional experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Two or more year’s experience in child protective services, project management, data collection, policy development or related work
  • Experience utilizing IMPACT; additional experience with CLASS preferred
  • Competence reviewing, interpreting, and summarizing case records, investigative reports, and compliance documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting time-sensitive deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively across departmental units to coordinate compliance monitoring, case reviews, child safety activities, documentation reviews, and reporting functions.
  • Knowledge of child welfare practices and willingness to develop expertise regarding legal requirements, agency policies, and state regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to review complex case histories, placement documentation and compliance records while maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to mange multiple time-sensitive projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing compliance needs.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with program leadership and staff while providing constructive feedback and technical assistance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Requires sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the population we serve and a passion for working with children and families.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary compliance resource and subject matter expert for assigned permanency programs, providing guidance on agency policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Monitor and support compliance through case reviews, record reviews, and program assessments to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist program staff in ensuring the completion, accuracy, and timely upload of required placement paperwork and other compliance-related documentation.
  • Conduct reviews of case documentation, records, and program activities to identify compliance risks and areas of improvement.
  • Analyze trends, prepare reports, and communicate findings to leadership and program staff.
  • Provide consultation, technical assistance, and guidance to assigned programs regarding compliance and child safety standards.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support quality improvement and ensure timely resolution of compliance concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records, complete assigned projects, and response to time-sensitive requests.
