About The Position

Geisinger General Internal Medicine (GIM) is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine physician for an outpatient primary care opportunity at the Geisinger Internal Medicine Clinic in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This role offers immediate access to ancillary services and strong sub-specialty support, allowing the physician to focus on delivering exceptional patient care. The practice includes services such as Executive Health Exams, Geriatric Assessments, Pre-Surgical Risk Assessment & Optimization, and an Acute Care Clinic with services like IV Therapy, Point of Care Testing, and Retinal exams for diabetic patients. The physician will care for patients aged 18 through Geriatric.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
• Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Pennsylvania
• Patient Care And Procedural Skills
• Professional Etiquette
• Systems-Based Practice

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional patient care in an outpatient primary care setting.
• Perform Executive Health Exams.
• Conduct Geriatric Assessments.
• Manage Pre-Surgical Risk Assessment & Optimization.
• Provide Acute Care Clinic Services, including IV Therapy (Diuretics and Antibiotics), Lab Procedures (Point of Care Testing, Hemoglobin A1C, Urinalysis and Urine Pregnancy), Retinal exams for diabetic patients (in coordination with Ophthalmology), and Vaccine administration.
• Care for patients ages 18 through Geriatric.
• Participate in phone call coverage only.
• Precept General Internal Medicine residents (PGY 1–3) and medical students from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.
