About The Position
Skilled Wound Care is hiring Internal Medicine Physicians in Oakland, CA to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area. This no-call Internal Medicine Physician job offers a high-impact career without the corporate red tape. Your Internal Medicine training is exactly what these patients need, as chronic wounds are closely tied to diabetes, vascular disease, and other comorbidities. You will perform surgical debridement and other bedside procedures, with full training provided. You will have clinical autonomy to direct patient outcomes based on your clinical expertise, not a hospital committee or department hierarchy. Our custom software is designed to slash admin time, so you’re not stuck charting at midnight. You will follow patients through healing and build lasting relationships.
Requirements
- Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
- DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
- Open Background: We welcome Internal Medicine physicians and hospitalists, as well as Family Medicine physicians and surgeons of all backgrounds.
- No previous wound care or procedural experience is required; we provide comprehensive wound care training
Responsibilities
- Use the latest advancements in wound healing to change lives in communities across Oakland, CA
- Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures
- Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds
- Management of the underlying conditions that affect wound healing
- Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols
- Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, where you follow patients through healing
