This brand-new, state-of-the-art facility offers a complete range of health services, including primary care, specialized medicine, and behavioral health programs. Requirements

  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • New York Medical License
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the highest quality standards of the clinical practice and its financial solvency.
  • Maintain New York State licensure and compliance with continuing education requirements.
  • Manage patient care operations including charting, performing and communicating test results in a timely manner, prescription medication management, and visit throughput.
  • Provide acute/urgent care of emergent/acute illnesses and injuries, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  • Provide medical services to the patients of the clinic, inclusive of all functions necessary to provide quality medical care.
  • See patients in a timely and efficient manner, staying reasonably on time for scheduled appointments.
  • Diagnose and provide medical treatment, formulating treatment plans, and managing short and long-term conditions.
  • Perform complete and focused physical exams.
  • Provide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up.
  • Verify and document that the patient understands the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other health care providers.
  • Maintain and submit timely and appropriate medical records and billing codes.
  • Ensure charting in the patient’s medical record is completed on the same day as the patient's visit.
  • Comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Practice using sound medical judgment and adhere to all ethical considerations.
  • Keep abreast of current technologies and industry standards.
  • Advise administration of any issues that may impact the practice.
  • Be flexible, adapt to change, and serve as a role model for staff.
  • Support the Division in Quality Assurance, Patient Satisfaction, and Patient Safety initiatives.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled learning and professional community activities of the Division and Department, including Division of General Internal Medicine Conferences, MSSLW Department of Medicine Grand Rounds, and Medical Board Meetings.
  • Participate in Divisional Quality Assurance Projects.
  • Provide teaching and supervision to interns, residents, and students in the MSMS-W DOM Internal Medicine Residency Program continuity clinics for five-hour sessions weekly.
  • Provide appropriate and regular feedback to trainees with respect to the ACGME six core competencies.
  • Participate in the Internal Medicine Residency Program Residency Review Committee (RRC) meetings.
  • Provide mentorship to trainees.
  • Fulfill the obligations of Program Site Director for Ryan Health at West 97th Street.
  • Collaborate with other staff in educational activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and consistent with core professional skills, training, and attributes.
