About The Position

The Internal Medicine Physician provides outpatient care for acute and chronic conditions. This role involves ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and imaging, managing referrals to specialists, and developing and implementing individualized treatment plans. The physician will participate in Quality Assurance Programs, comply with healthcare regulations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient-centered care. Additionally, the role may include supervising and mentoring residents and staying up-to-date with medical advancements. The Internal Medicine Physician serves as a Primary Care Physician for a panel of patients within the Tyler Centennial VA Clinic, which is part of the VA North Texas Health Care System. This is a modern, outpatient-focused facility where physicians deliver patient-centered, longitudinal care.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree.
• Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
• Must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine.
• Must have actively practiced or trained in Internal Medicine for at least two of the past three years.
• Must have current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Must have an active DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
• Must have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
