About The Position

Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a Board Eligible / Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician to join our established practice in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The role involves providing outpatient, primary care services, leading and collaborating with a team of nurses, medical assistants, case and care managers, behavioral health clinicians, pharmacist clinicians, and clerical staff. The position requires regular communication and collaboration with others. Presbyterian offers a nationally competitive salary with relocation allowance, CME allowance, and fully paid malpractice insurance. The practice sees 16-18 patients per day, offers practice call (telephone only) in rotation with the group, and provides RN/MA and APP support. The position is eligible for Student Loan Forgiveness (NHSC, PSLF, NM Health Professional Loan Repayment), has a guaranteed salary for 3 years with production incentives, and is J1 waiver & H1b Cap Exempt eligible. Clinicians work 36 patient contact hours with dedicated administrative time, with 4-day work week options.

Requirements

  • MD/DO.
  • Board Eligible or Certified in Internal Medicine.
  • State of New Mexico Medical License, DEA & NM Controlled Substance Registration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Make professional medical judgments in the care of patients seen.
  • Order, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic x-ray and lab tests.
  • Prescribe treatments, medications, and non-pharmacologic therapies.
  • Document all patient encounters and communications appropriately.
  • Manage the provider/patient relationship.
  • Receive and resolve patient complaints.
  • Involved in education and counseling of individuals, families, and groups.
  • Serve as a health care resources, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
  • Work autonomously as well as in collaboration with other health care providers and staff as needed.
  • Participate in the recruitment and replacement of other providers.
  • Participate in system-wide health management initiatives.
  • Provide input into the practice sites financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget, capital plan, and personnel issues.
  • Provides clinical input into the development and review of appropriate clinical protocols and processes.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in-services, and workshops.
  • Perform other functions as required.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings including PCC, provider and site meetings.
  • Modifies assessment techniques according to patients condition, culture, age, and stage of development.
  • Maintain coding and encounter data standards for completeness, accuracy, timeliness and reimbursement level, including legible documentation.
