About The Position

We are seeking an Internal Medicine Physician to work as a Hospitalist in an inpatient hospital setting. This is a permanent, full-time position with ongoing coverage needs. The role involves providing comprehensive inpatient care for adult patients across all age groups and demographics. Responsibilities include managing ED admissions, consults, and transfers, co-managing critical care patients with intensivists, and participating in throughput initiatives to optimize patient length of stay. The hospital is a 420-bed facility with Level 2 trauma designation and offers 24/7 subspecialty support, including pulm/critical care and radiology. The EMR system used is EPIC. This position is due to the expansion of the hospitalist program.

Requirements

• Must be licensed or eligible in Alabama
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
• Internal Medicine residency trained
• Comfortable managing diverse patient populations
• Throughput efficiency focus

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care for ED admissions, consults, and transfers
• Co-manage critical care patients with intensivists (no procedures required)
• Manage patients in clinical decision unit
• Collaborate with subspecialists and hospital support services
• Participate in throughput initiatives to reduce patient length of stay
