About The Position

OSF Multi-Specialty Group seeks a full-time Primary Care Physician to practice in primary care Health Professional Shortage Areas and federally designated rural areas in Streator, Illinois. The physician will provide professional Primary Care services to patients. Duties include adjusting patient care planning and delivery based on patient-specific needs, maintaining the consistency and high quality of services, promoting empathy and service excellence, and utilizing colleagues' expertise for a multidisciplinary approach. The role requires maintaining complete and current patient medical records, demonstrating positive working relationships and collaborative behaviors, performing necessary procedures as approved by the Medical Staff Privilege list, and providing on-call availability if applicable. Services may also be provided via telehealth and to free clinics. The physician will assist in directing and supervising daily operations, including potentially supervising non-physician personnel and advising the Ministry CEO on recruitment, selection, retention, scheduling, and termination. Diligence in assisting Leadership to minimize facility costs while maintaining high-quality patient care is expected, along with understanding and demonstrating OSF values and mission.

Requirements

  • M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent degree.
  • Completed residency in Internal Medicine required.
  • Illinois License to practice medicine is required.
  • Board eligibility in Internal Medicine is required.
  • Federal Drug Enforcement Agency License and State of Illinois License for prescribing of controlled substances are required.

Responsibilities

  • Adjusts patient care planning and delivery according to job-specific criteria based on patient-specific needs.
  • Maintains the consistency and high quality of all services provided to patients.
  • Recognizes the importance of service and patient experience and promotes empathy and service excellence.
  • Recognizes and utilizes the knowledge and expertise of colleagues to deliver a multidisciplinary approach to care.
  • Maintains full and current patient medical records, including reports of all examinations, procedures, and other services performed by Physician or other support staff.
  • Demonstrates positive working relationships and demonstrates collaborative team-oriented behaviors with other departments, and other members of the medical staff.
  • Performs necessary procedures as approved by the Medical Staff Privilege list.
  • Provides on-call availability to patients, if applicable.
  • Provides services via telehealth to patients of OSF Entities.
  • Provides services to free clinics upon mutual agreement with Ministry CEO.
  • Assists in the direction and supervision of the daily operation, which may include supervising others and advising the Ministry CEO concerning the recruitment, selection, retention, scheduling, and termination of non-physician personnel providing professional, technical, and clerical services.
  • Exercises diligence in assisting Leadership in keeping facility costs to a minimum while maintaining a high level of quality care for patients.
