About The Position

Physician will report to the Chief Medical Officer for clinical matters and the Hospital Chief Executive Officer or his or her designee for administrative matters. Responsibilities include providing professional medical services on a full-time basis to patients of assigned hospital(s), including rounding and consultations. The role involves collaborating with facility leadership, staff, and other practitioners to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care policies and procedures. The Medical Director will help identify, evaluate, and resolve medical and clinical concerns affecting patient care, quality of life, or the provision of services by healthcare practitioners. This includes performing prompt, courteous, and competent professional services in accordance with accepted standards, and may involve administrative duties. Responsibilities also include maintaining complete and accurate medical records, leading interdisciplinary team conferences, and managing progress notes, admission orders, reports, claims, and correspondence. Patient care duties encompass conducting physical exams, taking histories, diagnosing and treating adult diseases, managing chronic conditions, providing preventive care, ordering/interpreting tests, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, performing procedures, explaining diagnoses and treatment options, referring patients to specialists, coordinating integrated care, and staying updated with medical research through continuing education.

Requirements

  • Must possess M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Must hold current state medical license.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Residency training program in Internal Medicine.
  • Prior experience as Medical Director/leadership preferred.
  • Current practice in Internal Medicine/Hospitalist

Nice To Haves

  • Current certification or active participation in the examination process leading to certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Association, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional medical services on a full-time basis to patients of assigned hospital(s).
  • Collaborate with the Facility’s leadership, staff, and other practitioners and consultants to help develop, implement and evaluate patient care policies and procedures that reflect current standards of practice.
  • Help facility to identify, evaluate and address/resolve medical and clinical concerns and issues that affect patient care, medical care or quality of life or are related to the provision of services by physicians and other licensed health care practitioners.
  • Performing prompt, courteous and competent professional services in accordance with generally accepted professional standards for such services.
  • Responsible for preparation and maintenance of complete and accurate medical and other records in accordance with generally accepted medical practice and in compliance with mandated regulatory, legal and/or accrediting standards.
  • Leading the interdisciplinary team conference, progress notes which include face-to-face visits, admission orders, reports, claims, and correspondence relating to the services and treatment rendered by Physician for or on behalf of Employer.
  • Conduct physical exams, take histories, diagnose and treat a wide range of adult diseases, manage chronic conditions, and provide preventive care.
  • Order/interpret tests, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and perform appropriate procedures.
  • Explain diagnoses, test results, treatment options, and advise on diet, hygiene, and lifestyle.
  • Refer patients to specialists and coordinate integrated care.
  • Stay updated with medical research and participate in continuing education.
  • Assist with medical education as requested. This may include curriculum development, supervision and performance evaluations, daily rounds, lectures, demonstrations, informal discussions, and continuing education to attending Medical Staff, the nursing staff, and the therapy staff.
