About The Position

The Internal Manager in Training position is a full-time role responsible for directly supervising employees, ensuring store operations meet company standards, and contributing to the store's financial success. This role involves recruitment, training, scheduling, performance management, and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and customers. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, organizing store functions, and analyzing financial data to maximize sales and profits.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of retail work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
  • Ability to supervise and train for the use of equipment, tools and materials listed in CSR, LSR and SA job descriptions.
  • Ability to supervise and manage the functions listed in CSR, LSR and SA job descriptions.
  • Ability to use computer or acquire skills necessary to use a computer at the store for reports, inventory control, cash control, employment forms, etc.
  • A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to have open availability.
  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in English.
  • Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions.
  • Ability to work in the described conditions.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Food Server certificate (e.g. ServSafe) and Food Safety Management certification may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises the activities of 2 or more full-time employees.
  • Recruits, hires and trains employees, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Develops, manages and assigns tasks to ensure the store is clean, stocked, organized and well-kept.
  • Maintains a professional and supportive image.
  • Schedules employees within Company guidelines to meet business needs.
  • Implements non-discriminatory management skills in hiring, training, counseling, mentoring, motivating and separating employees.
  • Develops positive and professional relationships with suppliers.
  • Promotes excellent service and resolves customer complaints professionally.
  • Provides regular and predictable onsite attendance.
  • Promotes and ensures a safe, positive public image within the neighboring community.
  • Prepares performance appraisals and provides feedback.
  • Trains all employees on customer service, store image, marketing execution, and safety procedures.
  • Mentors and trains employees on cash awareness and expectations.
  • Ensures employees complete all required training in a timely manner.
  • Develops methods to ensure timely and proper communication to all employees.
  • Establishes periodic communication meetings with employees and the Market Manager.
  • Evaluates and develops action plans to address store needs and reach objectives.
  • Organizes and maintains all store files and manuals.
  • Manages employees to ensure required reports are completed accurately and timely.
  • Manages employees to ensure merchandise is stocked, displayed, and priced correctly.
  • Ensures required employment-related posters and signs are accessible.
  • Analyzes daily sales and expense information and takes appropriate action.
  • Budgets and forecasts P&L lines, and manages merchandise margins.
  • Safeguards and accounts for all money received and disbursed.
  • Performs financial analysis to maximize sales and net profits.
  • Notifies Market Manager of any sales, cash, inventory or operating discrepancies.
