About The Position

United Advisors America is a growing SEC-registered investment adviser headquartered in Prosper, Texas. We are seeking an experienced, personable Investment Advisor Representative to join our internal advisory team. This is not a traditional financial advisor position. You will not be expected to cold call, purchase leads, build a prospecting pipeline, or develop your own book of business. Instead, you'll work with established clients and alongside our network of external advisors through United Advisors America's Co-Advisor Program. Our external advisors focus primarily on developing new client relationships and bringing new clients and assets to the firm. In your role as an internal advisor, you will be supporting those relationships by managing the ongoing investment and service needs of clients — allowing our external advisors to devote more of their time to growing the business. If you enjoy investments, working with clients, and solving financial problems but would rather spend your time advising and servicing relationships instead of searching for them, this may be an excellent fit.

Requirements

Series 65, or Series 7 and 66 combination
Minimum one year of investment advisory, securities, financial planning, or related wealth-management experience
Solid understanding of investments, portfolio construction, and asset allocation
Strong communication and client relationship skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, or related field
Texas Life and Health Insurance license
CFP®, ChFC®, CLU®, CFA®, or other relevant professional designation
Experience with an RIA or wealth-management firm
Experience with Charles Schwab or a similar institutional custodial platform

Responsibilities

Assist with establishing new accounts, documentation, and asset transfers
Help facilitate the timely transfer and investment of new client assets
Handle ongoing account needs, including deposits, withdrawals, and distributions
Monitor and rebalance client portfolios
Conduct annual client reviews and participate in other client meetings
Respond to day-to-day client questions and service needs
Develop investment proposals and portfolio recommendations
Tailor portfolios to individual client objectives, risk tolerance, income needs, and circumstances
Identify opportunities involving additional client assets or financial needs and coordinate them with the external advisor
Participate in investment discussions and provide input on the firm's model portfolios and overall investment approach
Maintain appropriate client notes, documentation, and compliance records
Provide exceptional, responsive service to both clients and our external advisor partners
