Internal Communications Manager, Product Delivery

Engine
$139,000 - $170,000Hybrid

About The Position

Engine is transforming business travel into something personalized, rewarding, and simple by building a platform that integrates corporate travel, a charge card, and modern spend management. The company is seeking mission-driven individuals to redefine how businesses manage and experience travel. Engine supports over 30,000 companies, 1 million travelers, and billions in annual bookings, offering exclusive rates, industry-leading rewards, and intelligent automation. Backed by prominent investors, Engine is recognized as a fast-growing travel and fintech platform. This role is within the Product Delivery organization, which is central to the company's product-led approach. The Product Delivery organization is growing rapidly and requires a communications partner to match its pace. This high-impact role will partner directly with leaders of Product Delivery, including the Interim CTO, VP of Brand and Design, and the CEO (in his capacity as Chief Product Officer), serving as a trusted communications advisor for clarity, alignment, and change management across a large, largely remote organization. The role involves shaping strategy, sharpening narratives, and setting the tone for a critical organization. Communication at Engine is fast-paced, utilizing Slack, weekly all-hands, quarterly town halls, and an annual company summit.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in internal communications, executive communications, or technical program communications, ideally in a fast-scaling tech, SaaS, or product-led company.
  • A track record supporting senior technical and product leaders (CTO, CPO, VP Engineering, VP Product, VP Design), with the confidence and judgment to be their trusted advisor.
  • Genuine technical fluency. Comfortable with product language, engineering trade-offs, and systems concepts, and able to translate complexity into clarity without dumbing it down.
  • Exceptional writing and editorial instincts. Ability to shift voice, tighten a message, and make a leader sound like their best self.
  • A strong operator's brain: ability to build plans, sequence messages, and run comms as a program, not one-off deliverables.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, including partnering with leaders through periods of transition and change.
  • Discretion, integrity, and the maturity to be trusted with sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Embed with Product Delivery leadership.
  • Serve as the go-to comms partner to Engine's Interim CTO, VP of Brand and Design, and product leaders, building deep understanding of their teams, priorities, and communication needs.
  • Translate technical and product strategy (roadmaps, architecture decisions, org changes, platform bets) into clear, compelling communications that resonate across Product Delivery and the broader company.
  • Own the comms strategy and execution for major Product Delivery moments: product launches, org changes, leadership transitions, roadmap updates, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Write and produce materials for Product Delivery all-hands, town halls, executive memos, quarterly reviews, and manager cascades.
  • Partner with GTM, Marketing, People, and Finance to ensure product and technical work is well understood and well positioned internally.
  • Support product, engineering, and design leaders on their own communications, from written memos to live all-hands.
  • Design and maintain repeatable projects, agents, and automations that capture templated approaches and learn individual leader tone of voice, so comms scales without losing signal and leaders can self-serve where it makes sense.

Benefits

  • Competitive base pay tied to role and experience, with opportunities for bonuses, commissions, and equity.
  • Equity and/or variable pay (OTE).
  • Full list of benefits at engine.com/culture.
  • Hybrid-hub model: support for working in offices or fully remote.
