Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant field (Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in internal communications, including significant experience managing employee-focused events.
  • Recognized for strong project management, planning, and performance measurement capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a structured and methodical manner, while collaborating effectively with others.
  • Flexibility, autonomy, and comfort working in ambiguous environments with changing priorities and multiple complex projects.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in French, along with a functional command of English.
  • Comfortable using digital internal communication channels and content creation tools, both written and visual (e.g., Canva, SharePoint, CyberImpact, and Planner—an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Designing and leading internal communication and event strategies that strengthen the employee experience and engagement while supporting business priorities
  • Managing events of varying scope and complexity, integrating best practices and coordinating external vendors
  • Acting as a trusted partner to teams and managers, advising them on communication approaches, messaging, and the most effective channels
  • Ensuring a smooth and consistent flow of information among teams, managers, and external partners, with a constant focus on clarity and relevance
  • Optimizing and evolving internal communication channels and tools (intranet, Teams, email, HiEvents, Planner, etc.) to maximize effectiveness, complementarity, and engagement
  • Developing measurement tools and tracking communication and event metrics (participation rates, satisfaction, engagement, reach, etc.), analyzing results, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance initiatives
  • Develop and implement strategies and tools to promote internal activities and event-related initiatives.
  • Plan events and integrated communications while ensuring that GIRO’s employees are informed first whenever appropriate.
  • Oversee social committee activities and initiatives.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on how to define and position key issues, then implement targeted internal communication tactics to bring those recommendations to life.
  • Create and write a variety of communications (announcements, SharePoint intranet articles, Teams messages, internal newsletters, speeches, FAQs, videos, short features, manager toolkits, etc.) aligned with communication objectives.
  • Coordinate content development, review, and distribution; collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies when needed.
  • Coordinate the creation and production of short internal videos and define their distribution strategy.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to internal clients (managers, leaders, and teams): structure messages, simplify complex information, recommend the most appropriate channels and tone, and ensure effective communication.
  • Integrate communication best practices into change management initiatives to support teams through transitions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of internal audiences in order to tailor communication strategies and tools to their needs.
  • Manage and optimize internal communication channels (intranet, Teams, email, etc.) and contribute to sound documentation practices.
  • Organize and showcase corporate events and initiatives that strengthen culture and employee connections.
  • Act as a GIRO culture ambassador through a human-centered and inclusive approach.
  • Assess the effectiveness and impact of internal events and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company’s priorities, key business drivers, stakeholders, and ongoing or upcoming initiatives.
  • Stay informed on event management best practices, continuously improve processes and tools, and share expertise with team members.
