About The Position

The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks. The Office of Audits conducts audits of the Kentucky Court of Justice, including the Administrative Office of the Courts, circuit court clerks, master commissioners and court facilities. The Division of Internal Audit has an immediate need for an Internal Auditor in Franklin County.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree which includes twenty (20) semester hours or thirty (30) quarter hours in accounting.
  • Four (4) years job related experience in auditing.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CIA will substitute for required four (4) years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of audit plans and methods for conducting an internal audit.
  • Examines financial documents, accounting records, bank statements, computer records, business records, public documents and other relevant records for internal controls and compliance.
  • Conducts interviews with AOC personnel and other KCOJ officials.
  • Conducts testing and prepares recommendations, as needed, resulting from audit work.
  • Communicates with management during audits and as needed; evaluates the adequacy of corrective action taken.
  • Demonstrates a high level of technical efficiency and proficiency in the special areas of statistical analysis, data mining, and forensic auditing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
