The Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) is looking for someone to join us who has the ability to work independently and has great attention to detail. Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree, with coursework in auditing, business management, public administration, economics, computer science, accounting, or other related subjects.
Requires the ability to pass Illinois Gaming Board’s background investigation (background check).
Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
Requires proof of current automobile insurance.
Must comply with the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act: No State employee who works for the Illinois Gaming Board, or spouse or immediate family member living with such person shall, during State employment, hold an ownership interest in, other than a passive interest in, a publicly traded company, in any gaming license under the Illinois Gambling Act, the Video Gaming Act, the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975, or the Sports Wagering Act.
Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: No person shall be employed to serve the Board who is, or whose spouse, parent, or child is, an official of, or has a financial interest in or financial relation with, any operator engaged in gambling operations within this State, or any organization engaged in conducting horse racing within this State.
Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: For the one year immediately preceding employment, an employee shall not have been employed or received compensation or fees for services from a person or entity, or its parent or affiliate, that has engaged in business with the Board, a licensee, or a licensee under the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975.
Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position. As a result, the employee should be aware that if offered non-State employment during state employment or within one year immediately after ending State employment, the employee shall, prior to accepting any such non-State employment offer, notify the Office of the Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) or may be subject to a fine.

Prefers one (1) year of professional experience working with management principles and techniques, including organization, management, program accountability, governmental operations, and systems analysis.
Prefers one (1) year of professional experience working with functions of state government.
Prefers one (1) year of professional experience working with current technology utilized in the workplace.
Prefers one (1) year of professional experience applying state laws, statutory mandates, administrative rules, regulations, policies, and procedures when auditing an agency’s functions and programs.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, for a period of up to 12 months, receives instruction and on the job training on how to properly review and process requests from all types of gaming licensees.
Learns techniques to identify internal control weaknesses and corresponding level of problems.
Participates in discussions with gaming licensees, internal staff, and Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) enforcement personnel.
Records work activity into an automated Illinois Gaming Board System.
Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
