About The Position

This internship offers accounting students a unique opportunity to gain a broad understanding of Weyerhaeuser as a whole. Interns will develop audit skills and gain first-hand exposure to the financial and operational activities and controls performed in different business segments. The role allows interns to make an immediate impact by assisting the team in delivering assurance and recommendations that provide value to management and the Board of Directors. Weyerhaeuser is an industry leader with a strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) foundation, sustainably managing forests and manufacturing wood products. The Accounting department is central to the company, focusing on recording, reporting, and analyzing financial results, and is dedicated to developing future leaders within the organization.

Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Will have completed sophomore year by the time of the internship (Summer 2027).
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other Office products.
Support others without being asked for help, be a team player, and know how to win together.
Track record of proactively identifying potential issues and opportunities through analytical thinking and offering meaningful recommendations that address the root cause rather than symptoms.
Use professional judgment to operate in gray areas and can make and own difficult decisions.
Prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining critical attention to detail to meet and beat required deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis – candidates who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future will not be considered.
Priority will be given to candidates who, at the time of the internship, are one year away from starting their careers.

Responsibilities

Help deliver assurance and recommendations that provide value to management and the Board of Directors.
Network with and receive coaching from a wide array of individuals.
Put coursework skills and knowledge into practice doing work that matters to the company's long-term success.
Innovate and help achieve Operational Excellence goals (process improvement).
Gain practical experience and exposure to important software, such as Auditboard, SAP, Power BI, Power Pivot, and the full Microsoft Office suite.
