About The Position

The Intern is responsible for facilitating housing assistance funds and providing case management services for homeless households or at risk of becoming homeless, under the supervision of assigned licensed staff. This includes providing emergency resources to families in crisis and collaborating with other community providers to overcome barriers and promote self-sufficiency.

Requirements

  • For Bachelor’s Level internships, candidates must be currently enrolled in an internship class.

Responsibilities

  • All interns must agree to weekly supervision (required hours as arranged between interns/on-site supervision/director).
  • Interns will be available to receive referrals for services as approved by their supervisor based upon level of intern competency and client acuity.
  • Implement and manage systems for accessing assistance, including the application process, distribution tracking, collecting client access information, and data reporting.
  • Conduct client needs assessments to identify and address barriers to household stability such as parenting, housing, education, employment, and finances.
  • Develop client-centered, individual plans with goals and objectives that address barriers to self-sufficiency and household stability.
  • Assist clients with accomplishing their outcomes through direct support, facilitated referrals, ongoing assessment, and progress reviews.
  • Facilitate communication and partnerships with referring agencies and community resources to help clients navigate the support available.
  • Interns will maintain case records to reflect the course of services provided.
  • As possible, interns will attend team meetings, staff meetings, and other activities which ensure the smooth functioning of operations and their training.
