About The Position

The Supply Chain Department at University of Chicago Medicine offers a challenging 12-week internship program designed to provide valuable exposure to various areas within Supply Chain. This internship, lasting from mid-May to mid-August, will allow the Intern to experience the fundamental operations of the assigned department at UChicago Medical Center, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Department.

Requirements

• Minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0
• MUST be available to commute into the UCM Chicago office in a hybrid environment – Hyde Park & Harvey Campus
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Ability to grasp/understand technical concepts and applications

Nice To Haves

• Previous Supply Chain/Operations experience
• Finance, Project Management, Business Administration or Information Systems/Analytics experience
• Enrollment in a Supply Chain degree program

Responsibilities

• Work on a primary project within a specific functional area of supply chain, including Performance & Analytics, Operations & Logistics, and Strategic Sourcing
• Assist supply chain management with various special projects, reports, communications, analyses, processes, participate in group meetings, research, administrative processes, and customer service
• Utilize supply chain knowledge and maximize learning agility to contribute to the team in developing innovative solutions
