About The Position

Girls on the Run Minnesota is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident through a unique curriculum that integrates running with social and emotional life skills. Our fall 2026 internships offer valuable experience with an outstanding youth empowerment program. We have openings on our Program team and our Development & Communications team. Interns are expected to work an average of 10 hours per week, including serving as a GOTR Coach. Interns must be available for coaching at a local school on 2-3 weekday afternoons (2-5 p.m.) and to work in the St. Paul office one weekday (Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday between 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.). Girls on the Run values joy, celebration, collaboration, creative adaptation, and inclusivity, aiming to build a world where every person can realize their potential. Requirements

  • Passion for Girls on the Run mission and the ability to comprehend and effectively communicate issues surrounding empowerment, self-esteem, body image and whole-person health
  • Commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA) personally and professionally
  • Must be available at least 2 non-consecutive weekday afternoons (2-5 p.m.) for coaching
  • Must live in Twin Cities metro area
  • Must be available one weekday to work in our office in St. Paul (Monday, Tuesday or Thursday between 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)
  • Ability to travel locally for coaching, site visits and events, including occasional weekends and evenings
  • Possess computer competence, including Microsoft Office, Google suite, data management, and email
  • Possess the willingness and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Be flexible, adaptable, proactive, dependable and personable

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a Girls on the Run coach (leading two 90-minute sessions each week)
  • Assisting with coach recruitment, training and support throughout our 8-week season (September - mid-November) as a member of Team Adelaide, our program support team
  • Assisting with marketing and outreach throughout the community
  • Assisting with administrative duties that support the overall operations of GOTR MN
  • Assisting in fund development efforts including donor appreciation, research, event planning and grant writing (Development & Communications Intern)
  • Assist with creating content for social media, fundraising campaigns, and other external communications (Development & Communications Intern)
  • Assisting with coach training sessions and site visits (Program Intern)
  • Completing data entry related to program volunteers (Program Intern)
  • Managing program materials (Program Intern)
