About The Position

Our internship opportunities span three major areas of focus -- Credit and/or Finance, Data Science/Data Analytics, and Project Coordination-- and are part of City National teams including Real Estate Banking, Entertainment Banking, Commercial Banking, Specialty Banking, Human Resources, Residential Lending, Treasury Management Services, Personal & Business Banking, Banking & Investment Services, Technology & Innovation, Finance, Risk Management, Marketing - Product Strategies, and Wealth Management. Opportunities include: Participating in projects and assignments that directly contribute to the success of the department you support. Working collaboratively with the intern cohort on a capstone project. Professional instructor-led training that includes the fundamentals of working in a corporate environment. Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Rising Junior or Senior in college (graduation date no earlier than December of current year)
  • Enrolled in a college/university working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in multitasking and prioritizing projects

Responsibilities

  • (Credit and/or Finance focus) Exposure to all aspects of credit underwriting while working on active deals. Analyze company financial statements to determine borrower financial performance. Update/create valuations. Analysis of industry performance. Research industry trends, report and present on findings.
  • (Data Science/Data Analytics focus) Extract, manage, and manipulate large data sets. Process engineering. Draw conclusions and make actionable recommendations. Provide insight to new process development and continuous improvement efforts. Report and/or present on findings.
  • (Project Coordination focus) Conduct interviews with internal and external subject matter experts. Research and review pertinent data to make recommendations for process improvement. Document new processes and procedures. Leverage technology to develop process or program efficiencies.
