About The Position

The Gray Media Training Program at WKYT-TV in Lexington, KY, offers a paid internship for the Summer of '26. This immersive program allows college students to gain real-world experience by serving as valued team members in various departments. Interns will have the opportunity to produce a weekday newscast, drive digital engagement, collaborate with seasoned professionals, and build a professional portfolio. The program is designed to provide a fast-track to potential full-time career opportunities within Gray Media's extensive network of 113 stations.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a college/university (preferred Junior/Senior status).
Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, News, Sports, or a related field.
A 'doer' mindset with initiative.
Understanding of digital media across various platforms.
Strong work ethic, urgency, organization, and a 'can-do' attitude.
Clear and confident communication skills.
Reliability and commitment to the full 10-week program and 25-hour weekly schedule.
Passion for local communities and local media.

Internships have the potential to extend through the fall semester and provide opportunities to produce over the holidays.

Responsibilities
