About The Position

CFR's Blavatnik Internship Program and Robina Franklin Williams Internship Program offer training in foreign policy and international affairs, along with skills development in writing, research, and program planning. Qualified candidates should have related experience demonstrating judgment, discretion, strong writing and editing skills, prioritization abilities, and experience interacting with high-profile individuals. CFR interns are paid $18.50 per hour and are expected to work approximately 14-18 hours per week in person at the New York or Washington, DC office. Some positions may accommodate remote interns. Applications are accepted until Sunday, October 11. All internships are paid positions, and applicants must have the legal right to work in the United States. CFR's internships are considered among the foremost paid programs in the foreign policy field, providing interns with valuable experience, exposure to leading experts, and professional development training.

Requirements

Enrolled undergraduate or graduate student
All applicants should have completed the equivalent of four semesters of college coursework (not including AP classes in high school) by the time they begin an internship
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Must have the legal right to work in the United States

Interest in and knowledge of current foreign policy issues preferred

Responsibilities

Assist CFR staff, including preparing relevant briefing materials
Perform research as directed using approved CFR databases
Write, review, and edit CFR content
Support staff on administrative matters, including working cross-departmentally as needed
Support meetings and events under the direct supervision of CFR staff
