About The Position

This internship will allow the student to gain firsthand experience and understanding of PR and its role in a major organization. Responsibilities include assisting with day-to-day information distribution, media pitching, coverage tracking, media management, assisting with events, etc. Will also have the opportunity to shadow major event planning and implementation for events such as Halloween Horror Nights and more.

Requirements

In pursuit of a Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
A transcript is required upon application.
Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2027.

Nice To Haves

Preferred majors include: Public Relations, Communications, or related
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication skills (comfortable with communicating with others in person, by phone and by email.
Team player with a "go-getter" attitude.
Passionate and interested in learning about Public Relations.

Responsibilities

Develops various PR materials, including media alerts, photo captions and more
Regularly updates media contact lists.
Monitors Media & PR inboxes (including answering media requests in a timely manner)
Participates in brainstorm sessions for PR tactics and pitches.
Tracks media coverage and sentiment and provides summary reports to management, as needed.
Assists with implementing tactics and event planning, including broadcast shoots, media FAMs, etc.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
